It is understandable to want to measure how many times an e-mail was opened and clicked on. This is already a success in itself, as the content was evidently interesting enough to want to find out more. However, you may also want to find out who actually went on to place an order or complete a form from that e-mail. Conversions can, of course, be measured via Google Analytics and the UTM tags.
