iCalendar or ICS files are files to add appointments or events in your calendar automatically. If you have one appointment, for example for an event, you can just create one file and add this to your emails. However when you have personal appointments with advisors, for example, you'll need hundreds of those files. This is why Deployteq has a ICS generator campaign object.

Adding the generator to the campaigns

First you'll need to activate the ICS generator in the Store. This will give a one time fee to install.

Please note You'll also need to have the Attachment module to add these files to your emails. This module has a monthly fee.

The installation has only two steps:

First the installation of the generator in your Campaign Designer

Secondly you can add a PO number for your invoice, if needed

Now you can add the object to your campaigns

Using the object in the Campaign Designer

Once the app is installed, the object will be available in your library.

There are a few standard fields you need to configure within the object.

Firstly the name of the file. This will be the name your contacts will see in the attachment.

Secondly there are a few fields you'll need to create the file.

FieldDescriptionComment
SummaryThe name of the appointment as shown in the calendar
DescriptionThe extra comments you can add within the calendar item
LocationThe location of the appointment
StarttimeThe start date and time of the appointmentYYYY-mm-dd hh:mm:ss
EnddateThe end date and time of the appointmentif not filled, this will be 1 hour later

The dropdown of these fields will help you configure this object as well.

As you can see, you can use fixed texts, environments, for example from a page where you can plan your appointment, or within a customer-, customer option- or campaign field.

Adding to the mail

From the generator object the ICS file will be placed in a campaign environment: "ICSAttachments", which you can select within the email object (for this you need the Email attachment module, available in the Store),

With sending the mail, Deployteq will add the ICS file to the email as an attachment.
