Deployteq has a number of default options for the automated exchange of customer data. In addition to the synchronization of customer data it is also desirable, in an increasing number of cases, to exchange customer habits in Deployteq. When, for example, there are automated links between Deployteq and data warehouses or CRM systems, it is useful when E-mails, Opens, Clicks, Bounces, and Complaints are fed back from Deployteq, so we can find out which activities were performed by customers on the e-mail.
The Event Based export creates two files in Deployteq every day: one file for broadcasts and one file for activities. These two files are placed on an SFTP server by means of an export.
Format of the export
The ‘activities’ file shows which e-mails were received per person and what was done with them (opens, clicks, etc.). The e-mails are designated a unique code. For more information about the broadcast, go to the broadcast file. This indicates per code which e-mail or campaign was involved.
The default configuration of the Event Based export is described below. The following aspects can be customized:
- Interval and time
- File extension Delimiter in CSV Omitting column headers
- Location where files are placed Directory structure
- Additional fields in export.
The data from this export is suitable for use in other systems, such as data warehouses or CRM software. Given the amount of data and the way it is displayed, this raw data is less suitable for human interpretation. If you are looking for less complex data concerning e-mails, you could use Deployteq Analytics or configure an (incremental) export in Deployteq at campaign level.
Activities file

This is an export of all e-mail activities at customer level that have come in from a broadcast. This export has the following default fields:
- Broadcast ID
The unique ID of the broadcast. - Customer ID
The unique ID for a customer record in Deployteq. - External customer number
The external customer number. - E-mail address
The customer’s e-mail address. - Activity
The type of activity (see the different types below). - Activity date

Additional information for specific types (see type definitions).
Type defintions
More information about the various types included in the export is given below.
- Broadcasts
The e-mail broadcast. - Opens
When an e-mail is opened, including image loading. We can also send back the OS used if necessary. This cannot be done historically, however. - Clicks
When a link in an e-mail is clicked, we can send back the link and possibly also the OS that was used. - Soft bounces
When a soft bounce is registered for the e-mail address. In the description, we send back the actual message we have received from the provider if available. - Hard bounces
When a hard bounce is registered for the e-mail address. In the description, we send back the actual message that we have received from the provider if available. - Complaints
When we have received a complaint from the provider. - Unsubscribes
When an unsubscribe is registered from the e-mail. This is only possible when the default unsubscribe campaign with corresponding campaign objects is used.
Broadcast file
This is an export of all broadcasts that have been carried out in the set period and the broadcasts for which a customer activity has come in within the set period. It may also include a broadcast from a year ago if an ‘open’ activity is registered for it again. This export has the following default fields:
- Broadcast ID
The unique ID of the mailing. - Broadcast type
The type of broadcast: SINGLE, CAMPAIGN, QUICKMAIL, SPLITRUN, etc. - Description
The name/description of the campaign, Quickmail, or Singlemail in Deployteq. - Subject
The subject of the mailing. If Smarty has been used to personalize the e-mail, you will see the Smarty text. It is therefore important to use a descriptive name so you know what the subject contained. - Sent on
The start date of the broadcast in ISO-8601 format: yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss
SFTP server
If you use a Deployteq SFTP, the files will remain available on the server for a maximum of two months before being deleted automatically. It is also possible to place the files on your own SFTP server with your own archiving rules. If you do not have an SFTP server yet, let us know in your request so we can create one for you. Additional costs will be charged for this service.
Examples of files
